It's been a while. New Branding Photos, New Me.
If we haven't met yet, I'm Joella. AKA Joe. I'm an Ohio photographer with a focus on creative portraits, weddings, and boudoir.
I just got new branding photos taken by my amazing friend Emma, so I figured now is the best time to reintroduce myself. A lot has changed since the last time I got branding photos taken (I was literally bald in my last PFP...). My business has flourished, I've made lots of great new connections, and I've got a LOT of stuff to catch y'all up on.

My Approach to Photography
My passion is capturing the individuality & unique beauty in every person. Most people don't immediately feel comfortable in front of the camera, so I take a candid approach to ease you into the process. Instead of a "look here and smile!" kind of thing, I coach my clients through prompts that encourage natural movement and genuine expressions (for example, "lean up against the wall, look to your left, and unbutton/rebutton your jacket a few times"). All of my clients are guided every step of the way; from the beginning booking stages, to planning and picking outfits, til you receive your digital images and Fine Art products, I promise you'll feel supported and loved the entire time.
Who I Do & Don't Photograph as an Ohio Photographer
As my business grows beyond what I ever dreamed, I’ve had to make some minor changes to my service offerings. My clientele has grown substantially since I began photography (and I’m so grateful!), so I want to be fully transparent about how I’m planning to move forward!
• My main photography offerings are: portraits (any style), boudoir, creative arts, weddings & events.
• I will no longer be offering the following: family portraits, high school senior portraits, kid/baby photos, or concert photography.
• I will no longer be taking on clients under the age of 18 years old.
The amazing families, kiddos & musicians I worked with in my early years as a photographer will forever hold a special place in my heart! Thank you for sharing your stories & milestones with me and helping me grow my business into what it is today. I wouldn’t be here without you!
What I Do & Don't Retouch in Post-Production
Aside from color correction, exposure adjustments, and other editing processes, I also provide basic "beauty" retouching for all sessions. I firmly believe ALL people are beautiful as they are, including their bodies and their skin. I go by what some call a "Two-Week Rule" while editing; if something can't be changed in two weeks or less, I won't edit it. Here are some examples of what I would and wouldn't retouch based on this rule:

WILL edit:
acne & blemishes
bruises
scratches
makeup smears
teeth whitening
scars (by request only)
WILL NOT edit:
wrinkles
stretch marks
birthmarks
digital body enhancement
airbrushing skin texture

What's Next? 2026 & Beyond
My books are open for 2026 and 2027! You can book your session months in advance to secure your date on my schedule, or book something for next week. If and when you're down, so am I. My client experience is more streamlined and easier now than ever before, but as always, I'm available to answer any questions you may have about my work, bookings, or anything else.
New clients, loyal clients, friends & family; let’s make some dope ass art together.
💕✨🦋
All the best, always. — JOELLA
